Microsoft Corporation has decided to end support of Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) and the legacy version of the Microsoft Edge desktop app.  As Microsoft 365 apps and services end support of Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) and the legacy version of the Microsoft Edge desktop app, WEX will also end support of both browser environments for the WEX benefits platform for all product lines as of October 16, 2021.

WEX will continue to support a wide range of browsers for platform access, including current versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari. A full list of supported browsers (broken down by portal) is available in the WEX Health Support Center.

Key Details

  1. This only impacts IE11 and the legacy version of the Microsoft Edge desktop app.
  2. As of July 17, you will begin receiving messages in your admin, employer, and participant portals if accessed by a browser being sunset as a reminder to upgrade/switch browsers.
  3. Access to the WEX benefits platform for all product lines using IE11 and the legacy version of the Microsoft Edge desktop app wil be prevented on October 16.
